ADHD life coaching is an arm of traditional life coaching that addresses the biological underpinnings of ADHD brains and nervous systems, and the core traits of ADHD. As an ADHD coach, I work to build a creative partnership with my clients, focusing on the academic, vocational, emotional, and interpersonal difficulties that are a result of these traits. Together we design effective tools to navigate these challenges to support them in
improving their executive functioning,
maintaining focus on their goals,
deepening self-awareness and mental and emotional fitness,
and developing ownership of their lives.
In a nutshell, ADHD coaches work with their clients to create the structure, skills, and strategies to manage personal change that will move them from where they are now to where they want to be.
Is life coaching the same as therapy?
Professional coaching differs from therapy because of it’s emphasis on action, accountability, and follow-through. Coaching is a also a creative learning process, but does not explore the root causes of mental health challenges or trauma, nor attempt to treat them.
ADHD coaching is endorsed by leading researchers, physicians, and ADHD support and advocacy organizations. It’s an effective tool on its own, or in combination with therapy and ADHD medications and management.
