Habit Stacking
Habit Stacking for Energy Preservation & Developing New Habits
Building structure into our days helps us develop more consistency. Being more consistent means having fewer decisions to make throughout the day, leaving you with more mental energy for bigger decisions and tasks.
Habit stacking is taking a task you’d like to turn into a habit and attaching it to a habit you already have in place. For example, when you turn on the coffee pot each morning, you could also take a few minutes to review your agenda for the day, or perhaps in the evening while you drink a cup of tea before going to bed.
The key is recognizing that you already have many routines in place that you may carry out without thinking about it.
